We chose to rewrite the entire codebase.
It wasn’t an easy call. A full rewrite meant investing in future scalability while continuing to support existing customers. It meant uncertainty. It meant experiments that might not work. However leadership understood something critical: real innovation requires trust and freedom.
During the migration, we ran multiple architectural and technical approaches in parallel. There were successes and setbacks. Failing fast allowed us to learn faster and converge on the right solutions without accumulating long-term technical debt.
That trust inside the organization created the foundation for something equally important, trust with our clients.

The most challenging phase of our journey was the transition from v1.0 to v2.0. We weren’t just upgrading features, we were rebuilding the platform from the ground up while continuing to serve customers.
It meant running the old and new systems in parallel. It meant experimenting with data models, deployment strategies, and architectural patterns all while ensuring uninterrupted service. This kind of transformation is risky, and it only works in an environment built on open communication and psychological safety.
At OnlyGood, direct access to leadership and stakeholders made those risks manageable. Ideas were discussed and enhanced into bigger and better products. Bold approaches were encouraged. The focus stayed on long-term solutions rather than short-term fixes.

Building the Team alongside the Product
Great products are built by great teams. Alongside the platform, we focused heavily on building a strong in-house engineering team transitioning from an outsourced model to a dedicated team of engineering.
The team was built with technical excellence, in alignment with our mission, and with ownership towards the final ideas and products. Collaboration wasn’t left to chance. We invested in workshops, mentorship, and open design discussions to create a culture where ideas could come from anywhere.
